Partnership in Action: A Day of Impact in Amuono

Some of the most powerful change happens when many hands come together around a shared purpose. That’s exactly what unfolded recently in Amuono, where TumainiAction joined forces with Hon. Grace Mercy Osewe, CECM for Health, and a network of dedicated partners to deliver a day of comprehensive, life-changing services to the community.

A Coalition Built for Impact

This outreach brought together an impressive lineup of partners, each contributing their expertise:

• NACADA (National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse), lending its expertise on substance use prevention and recovery
• KAH, supporting the day’s broader health initiatives
• Asumbi Treatment Center, bringing specialized addiction and mental health treatment resources
• Hon. Grace Mercy Osewe, CECM for Health, providing county-level leadership and support

Together with Tumaini Action, this coalition turned a single day into a multi-pronged intervention for the Amuono community.

Services That Met Real Needs

Rather than offering just one type of support, the day was designed around the full picture of what a thriving community needs:

• Medical care — screening and treatment for community members who might otherwise go without
• Mental health support — a critical service in a community where mental health needs, especially among young adults, have grown urgent
• ID registration — helping residents access the official documentation needed for essential services
• SRHR education — equipping community members with knowledge about sexual and reproductive health and rights
• Smart agriculture training — practical skills to strengthen food security and livelihoods

Why This Model Works

Integrated outreach days like this one show what’s possible when a community organization, county government, and specialized partner organizations align around a common goal. No single organization could have delivered this range of services alone — but together, the Amuono community received care and knowledge that will have ripple effects for years to come.

Looking Forward

This day in Amuono is a model Tumaini Action hopes to replicate: bringing partners together, meeting communities where they are, and addressing health, wellbeing, and livelihoods all at once.
