About Tumaini

Our Story

Founded in 2021 and fully registered on 30th September 2025, Tumaini Action CBO was born from a powerful story of resilience and transformation. The organization emerged from the founder’s 16-year struggle with addiction and a subsequent four-year recovery journey. Having experienced firsthand the devastating impact of substance abuse on families, dreams, and self-worth, the founder rebuilt life through rehabilitation, faith, and community support—proving that change is possible regardless of one’s past. This journey inspired the conviction that no one should suffer in silence or be written off by society.

“Tumaini,” meaning “hope,” reflects the organization’s belief that every individual deserves a second chance. Established in response to clear gaps in accessible mental health and addiction services, the CBO provides counseling, peer support, and holistic healing programs that guide individuals toward recovery and renewed purpose.

Grounded in integrity, accountability, and service excellence, Tumaini Action CBO works collaboratively with stakeholders and community partners to deliver structured, sustainable interventions. The organization remains committed to empowering vulnerable individuals and strengthening communities through hope-driven, transformative initiatives.
